In its continuous efforts to maintain its position as a leading and innovative institution, Bank Audi launched its “emall” site (www.emall.me), an unparalleled e-commerce platform in Lebanon, during an event held on June 23, 2013, at the Bank’s headquarters in Bab Idriss.
This was also an opportunity for the Bank to present an overview of the content of the new site through a unique 3D presentation, and to inaugurate its “e-gallery” which exposes the most recent e-payment trends, as well as the last innovations adopted or to be adopted by the Bank in terms of payment technologies. The “e-gallery” will be open to the public from 10:00 am till 10:00 pm during this whole week.
“emall”, a unified e-commerce platform addressing Lebanese merchants, aims at promoting the Lebanese economy and at being a marketplace that unites retailers, SMEs and independent merchants with cardholders in Lebanon and around the world, who will now be able to execute sale and purchase operations online through this interactive site.
The launch of “emall” sets the necessary foundations for encouraging e-commerce in Lebanon as it contributes to opening the horizons of Lebanese merchants, providing them with an online springboard to the world. “emall” will also play an important role in the adoption by companies and individuals of Internet as an e-commerce exchange tool. Moreover, “emall” will give clients complete tranquillity as regards the comfortable and secure purchasing and delivery procedure: clients can make their purchases online anywhere they are and with no effort at all.
Mrs. Randa Bdeir, Head of Group Cards and e-Payment Solutions at Bank Audi, seized the occasion to express “the Bank’s pride in the launch of this e-commerce platform: “We are indeed deeply convinced of the vital role we play in supporting the local economy, and we are constantly seeking to launch new initiatives which aim at promoting the monetary system, particularly in the current circumstances. Considering the role of SMEs in economic growth in terms of retail sales, “emall” will contribute to revive the activity of these companies, mainly thanks to the adoption by Lebanese and Arab consumers of the concept of online shopping. By launching this platform, it is a double message that Bank Audi is sending: on the one hand to Lebanese merchants to whom we are saying “We export your products worldwide”, and on the other hand to our clients to whom we say “We put the world at your reach.”
“emall” will help Lebanese merchants develop their businesses by opening them up to the world and showcasing their products in a simple and accessible way on their web page, under the “emall” umbrella. It is also an e-payment platform which accepts all types of payment cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and which adopts the safest and most up to date measures of purchase protection (“verified by Visa & MasterCard Secure Code”). The Bank also offers the logistic solutions relative to the delivery of goods in Lebanon and abroad, through deals with courier companies that handle the transfer of merchandises from the shop to the buyer.
As far as cardholders are concerned, “emall” puts at their disposal a simple and accessible shopping platform which includes various interactive sections and offers online buyers a whole new experience.
“emall” gives its users a number of possibilities, namely: the purchase of goods at a wide number of retail stores; the purchase and delivery of merchandises from American websites which normally don’t accept payments done through cards issued in our region and which often don’t deliver to Lebanon; the possibility of benefiting from the “Great Deal”, a daily promotion that includes discounts which can reach up to 80% on certain goods. It is worth mentioning in this respect that the Bank also designed the “Great Deal Mobile Application”, a special application that clients can download on their mobile phones to be constantly notified of the latest available offers. “emall” also gives users the possibility of taking advantage of special offers related to sports events, musical concerts and fashion shows worldwide; it also allows them to purchase prepaid cards and to access charities and help them through online donations.
The launch of “emall” was attended by merchants, economic and social figures among whom ministers, presidents of unions and charities, clients interested in the concept of online commerce, and press representatives. Attendees enjoyed the 3D presentation realised by “3D Mapping Factory”. Guests also explored Bank Audi’s “e-gallery”, an electronic showroom executed by “DNY Digital”.
