Bank of Beirut Signs Comprehensive MOU with the Antonine University

In line with its strategy to support Universities, Bank of Beirut signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding with the Antonine University covering all aspects of banking service. By signing this new MOU, one additional major Lebanese university has thus joined the Bank’s five previous partnerships with LAU, USEK, NDU, USJ and AUST. 

The MOU was signed at the Antonine University in Hadath by Mr. Salim Sfeir, Chairman – CEO of Bank of Beirut and Father Germanos Germanos Rector of the Antonine University. The ceremony was held in the presence of Father Antoine Aziz, Administrative and Financial Director of the University, Mr. George Aouad - Head of Retail and Branches Division at Bank of Beirut, as well of a number of the University Council members and the Bank’s executives.

In his speech, Father Germanos expressed the Antonine University’s pride to partner with Bank of Beirut, stating that the University’s objectives of serving the community and building the future align with the goals of Bank of Beirut, which initiatives are driven by its mission. From his part, Mr. Sfeir conveyed Bank of Beirut’s pride to collaborate with the Antonine University, especially that both institutions share the same mission of “promoting the education sector in Lebanon and supporting the young generations, who are the pillars of the country’s future”.

The speeches were followed by a presentation by Mr. George Aouad about the facilities and services offered to the University Community by virtue of the new MOU, one of which being the Antonine University Affinity Credit Card; A Card developed for the staff, faculty, students and Alumni of the University and whereby a part of the earnings are channeled for the development of their University. Moreover, the Bank will be providing the community of the Antonine University with the ID Access Card, a one of a kind card exclusively offered by Bank of Beirut to universities, and which can be used on campus as an Identification card to access Antonine facilities and Departments, and off campus as a Visa payment and debit card accepted locally and globally. Smart ATM machines will be also put at the disposal of the University students allowing them, in addition to the usual transactions, to pay their university tuition fees. A full array of banking facilities with special rates has as well been tailored by the Bank for the Antonine University community.
