Byblos Bank Holds Workshop on “Linling Business to Knowledge Economy”

Byblos Bank, keen on keeping its team members well-informed on innovation and the various aspects of the Knowledge Economy, held a workshop that brought together representatives from key successful businesses and a number the Bank’s staff and managers. The workshop, convened at Mövenpick Hotel Beirut, was held under the title “Linking Business to Knowledge Economy”.

Speakers included Me Elie Chamoun, Senior Partner at Abouhamad, Merheb, Chamoun, Chedid Law Firm; Ganes Raman Kuti, Director of Commercial Products at Visa Middle East; Rami Moughabghab, Business Development Manager at Foo; Aya Ismail, Training Manager at Zaatar W Zeit; and Lara el Khoury, Business Development Manager at ME Green. Contributors from Byblos Bank included Nassib Ghobril, Chief Economist and Head of Economic Research and Analysis; and Walid Ashkar, Head of Commercial Support Unit.

Talks touched on a range of innovative concepts, systems and strategies. They highlighted the electronic signature and the legal framework that regulates its usage; Visa’s latest products allowing better cash management for companies; Innovation as a concept that disrupted and remodeled businesses, and Big Data as a powerful tool to analyze and predict consumer behaviors; Green Technology as an alternative, environment-friendly power generation tool for households and corporations; and original branding models as those used by Zaatar W Zeit, a successful company that expanded overseas, mainly through franchising. 

Byblos Bank’s workshop presented an opportunity for employees to get introduced to the Bank’s Corporate Internet Banking platform, a recently launched tool allowing companies to perform and monitor transactions, and conduct real-time management of their finances. This platform adds to the Bank’s high-tech solutions that include, among others, Azka Banking, an electronic platform comprising the Mobile Banking Application, the Online Banking and the Smart ATM network; Asra3App, a business-to-business mobile application dedicated to car dealers and selected by the European Financial Management Association (EFMA) as the innovation of the month of May 2015; and AkramApp, an application dedicated to cardholders.
