Dan Azzi, Chief Executive Officer for Standard Chartered in Lebanon

Standard Chartered announced yesterday the appointment of Dan Azzi as Chief Executive Officer for its operations in Lebanon. This is the first time that the Bank appoints a Lebanese to lead its strategy in the country. Prior to taking up this position, Dan was Regional Head of Global Markets and Co-Head of Wholesale Banking for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan (MENAP) based in Dubai.

Commenting on Dan’s appointment, Christos Papadopoulos, Regional CEO, Standard Chartered MENAP said: “Standard Chartered has a strategic presence in Lebanon and we see good potential for us to continue supporting its economy. This appointment comes as part of our direction to develop Arab Nationals to lead the Bank’s businesses in the region. Dan brings a wealth of experience to the role which will be important both in terms of driving our on-shore business and further developing our network business.”
