May 08 2018

As part of its CSR initiatives, SGBL has joined efforts with Teach For Lebanon NGO to raise awareness on financial literacy among young people in Lebanon.

Two full-fledged sessions prepared and presented by SGBL representatives, covering Banking Basics, took place at Sahaguian-Levon Meguerditchian College (Sin El Fil) and Père Afif Osseiran Foundation (Fanar) targeting Grade 9, 10 and 11 students, as part of NGO Teach for Lebanon’s continuous learning program.

The learned strategies included notions on managing money for short and long-term goals, how to interpret and choose banking products and services, the basics of saving and investing and many more important ideas that answered many of the students’ questions on financial literacy.

The students were highly engaged and interested in understanding the fundamentals of money management, making it a success for both SGBL and Teach For Lebanon.

Through this initiative, SGBL reiterates its commitment toward ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting financial learning for youngsters with a focus on disadvantaged communities.

Teach For Lebanon relies on the support of partners such as SGBL to continue their work in providing quality education for children in Lebanon by creating system change and empowering skilled youth to join the education workforce and become effective educators.
