The Association of Banks in Lebanon organizes a Lunch to honor the President of “Interpol Foundation for a Safer World” and the Secretary General of Interpol Organization

On January 28, 2014, the Association of Banks in Lebanon received at its headquarters at Saifi, the President of the "Interpol Foundation for a Safer World", Mr. Elias Murr, and the Secretary General of Interpol, Mr. Ronald Noble, accompanied by a number of senior officials of both organizations. The international delegation held with the President of the Association, Dr. François Bassil, the Board of Directors and the Secretary General, a business meeting during which they review the possible areas of cooperation between both Interpol and the "Interpol Foundation for a Safer World" and the Lebanese banking sector in order to strengthen the fight against organized crime, particularly the financial crimes such as money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

Following the meeting, the Association held a luncheon in honor of President Murr and Mr. Nobel at the Phoenicia Hotel. Also, heads of the judiciary and the leaders of the military and security institutions and ambassadors accredited in Lebanon attended the lunch, along with a crowd of higher banking cadres and CEO’s. Also, managers of Lebanese media, Arab and International news agencies were present.

Prior to the banquet, Dr. Francois Bassil, Mr. Ronald Noble and Mr. Elias Murr delivered a speech on this occasion.
