During this week, the annual meetings of the World Bank (WB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and a number of other financial institutions will be held in Washington, DC, with the participation of a large Lebanese banking delegation.

The delegation of the Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) is headed by its Chairman Dr. Joseph Torbey along with members of the Board of Directors: Saad Al Azhari, Walid Rafael, Tanal Al-Sabah, Nadim Kassar, Semaan Bassil, Dr. Freddie Baz, Antoun Sehnaoui, and ABL Secretary-General Dr. Makram Sader. Also, more than 30 bankers will attend the 2017 annual meetings in addition to ABL Board of Directors.

It is worth noting that the Association of Banks in Lebanon is organizing a reception in Washington on Friday, October 13, which is expected to be attended by more than 400 bankers from Arab and international delegations participating in the annual meetings of the WB and IMF.

The Lebanese banking delegation will then travel to New York to participate in the conference organized by the Union of Arab Banks and the International Union of Arab Bankers with the Federal Reserve Bank that will be inaugurated by Dr. Joseph Torbey. Finally, a working group composed of the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Association will visit correspondent banks in New York.
