June 09 2014

More than 300 political and economic personalities were present at the Phoenicia to attend the Forum on the Economic Future of Lebanon.

"The Forum on the economic future of Lebanon aims to be our Davos. “ It is with these words tinged with optimism that the former Minister of Industry and coordinator of the Forum, Vrej Sabounjian, welcomed hundreds of personalities from the political and economic world.

One after another, the speakers have all condemned the empty chair, "which can only have a negative impact on the future of the country's economic activity," as stated by the Governor of the Banque du Liban (BDL), Mr. Riad Salameh, and the President of the Economic Organizations, HE. Mr. Adnan Kassar ....

"The banks have ample resources to finance economic activities in the private sector as well as government projects," said the president of the ABL, Dr. François Bassil.

"The BDL also plays an important role in this process by injecting liquidity into the market or providing subsidized loans to certain key productive sectors", said the Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Riad Salameh.
