The Association of Banks in Lebanon and the Ministry of Finance announce on May 14th, the launching of tax payment electronically (e-payment) via commercial banks. ABL President Joseph Torbey said transactions and payments would be handled in a confidential manner. He also added that taxpayers would also be able to settle their payments through Lebanese banks’ websites.
Mr. Safadi also announced that “Agreement with commercial banks will soon be signed with those who wish to provide this service to their clients”.
A statement by both sides Tuesday said that e-payment would be introduced soon to facilitate the lives of taxpayers who usually have to go to the Finance Ministry to settle their dues to the Treasury. Safadi and ABL said taxpayers would be able to complete their transactions 24/7 without any hassle.
